It has been almost 10 months and counting since what was once known as the T.D. Waterhouse got its new name, Amway Arena.

One would think that by now, there would at least be some sort of signage up, but no. The building looks plain and forgotten.

Being that the building is over 18 years old, I suppose a facelift and a new name are in order. But what is the point of updating or remolding an old building or giving it a new name, if the team that all this is done for, hardly ever wins a game…let alone a championship.

The Orlando Magic want a building of prestige like other teams have. Well, maybe if they played like other teams played, then the people of Orlando would not mind it so much. Its like rewarding a kid who only gets C’s. You’re telling them that what they are doing is acceptable, when it isn’t.

Yes, a nice new facility would be an eye catcher, and maybe it will draw more celebrities here for concerts, etc… and yes, I’m sure I would enjoy it too. But at the end of day, this new name and new arena really isn’t for the people of Orlando. Its for the Orlando Magic. And if we happen to catch some of the goodness and hoopla that comes along with it, then that will just be an added plus.

Of course the odds that they begin playing baseball there are as likely as seeing the Diamondbacks World Series.

As I viewed about thirty minutes of Dr. Phil today, I was totally disgusted with the grandmother and grandfather of a six-year old little girl that had been molested.

Not a day goes by without either seeing it on the news or reading it in the paper: an adult taking advantage of a child that totally trusts them.

What is it about taking a child’s innocence that men and women in society today find so compelling?

The grandfather told Dr. Phil that he didn’t know that what he was doing was a crime. I’m sorry, did I miss something here? Since when does something have to be a crime in order for it to be wrong? What could he possibly have been thinking?

Not only that, but his son, the father of the child, said that he had cried many nights for his father. Okay now, what is his problem?! He said he never cried for his daughter.

Is this family twisted or what? And finally to top it all off, the grandmother said that when the child told her about it, as she was bathing her, she told her that it really didn’t happen, and that if it did, then it happened by accident. Accident? Tripping over your own foot is an accident. Knocking over a vase is an accident. Slipping on an icy pair of steps is an accident… molesting your granddaughter is not.

People like him and those who cover for him need to punished in the worst way. Its at times like these that I wish I was both Judge and jury.

Well, it appears that the daughter of President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, Jenna has found her soul mate; Or at least the guy who is willing to marry into the family.

Her longtime boyfriend and once White House aide, Henry Hager popped the question while the two were in Maine, however, he did ask Jenna’s father for permission first, which says a lot about his upbringing. His parents can pat themselves on the back for rearing what seems to be a good son.

They met in 2004 and have been together since.

If the happy couples marries while the President is still in term, it will be the first marriage in the White House since 1971.

I am sure that you, like me, thought we had heard the last of the OJ Simpson book publishing fiasco. Well, apparently not. OJ has gained the right to the unpublished manuscript of “If I Did It”. The families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Simpson are of course greatly disappointed in their fight to stop this from happening.

Ironically, the book proceeds are going to the Ron Goldman Foundation for Justice.

It escapes my mind as to why OJ would not let this heinous crime lay to rest. Why is it that our society leans on bad news? Why open old wounds that have begun to heal?

So much for Resting In Peace.
